Terramare

Located in the peaceful North Harbour division of Bodega Harbour, Terramare is a newly constructed 3-bedroom, 2-bath home that was featured in Trends magazine (Home & Living Edition, Vol. 23, No. 9). Completed in mid-2007, this James McCalligan-designed and Ken Marshall-built home includes extensive views of the coastal hills (Terra) and desirable views of Bodega Bay, the Pacific Ocean (mare), Bodega Rock (sea lions, harbor seals, and a wide variety of birds) and Bodega Head.

Begin your relaxing getaway just past the entry gate. A large, private courtyard greets you with pinot noir grapevines, olive trees, and other native California plantings. This unique bit of Sonoma wine country near the beach will lend a fascinating welcome to you and your guests.

The Great Room offers a state-of-the-art example of contemporary coastal living. The pitched cedar ceiling, dramatic window views from all four sides, and double-height entry area lend a very open feel to the space. The room includes Brazilian Cherry hardwood flooring, a gas fireplace, and HD television (with Comcast HD TV service).

A 14-foot granite island with Viking Professional cook top represents the focal point of the kitchen. Surrounding the island are custom cherry hardwood cabinets and stainless steel KitchenAid appliances.

The bathrooms are extremely well-appointed with granite counter tops, natural-stone or granite vessel sinks, custom tiling, and European-style glass-enclosed showers. The bedrooms include significant views, custom hardwood horizontal blinds, Brazilian Cherry/carpeted floors, HD TVs (in two bedrooms), and generous bedding. The Master bedroom also includes a gas fireplace.

The third bedroom includes a leather couch with pull-out bed, and doubles as a fully functional office. An HP OfficeJet black/color printer, copier, and fax machine is available for your use. High-speed wireless Internet service is available for those eager to run away from the office but still wanting to check in between trips to restaurants, wineries and beaches. Unlimited U.S. long-distance telephone service is included as well.

The rear of the home features a wrap-around deck that is accessible from both the Great Room and Master Bedroom. A hot tub and propane outdoor grill await your use.

The beaches and other well-known amenities within Bodega Bay are less than two minutes away. The gentle tone of the fog horn represents a continuing reminder that you have come to a special place along the Sonoma County coastline. The Sonoma Coast, Russian River, Green Valley, Dry Creek, and Alexander Valley wineries are all within an easy 15-45 minute drive.

We are unable to permit smoking or accept pets at Terramare. In addition, because of the significant difficulty in caring for the hardwood floor throughout most of the home, we must respectfully ask that you remove your shoes at the front entryway – and refrain from rolling luggage or other devices across the hardwood flooring.
